 ABOUT
YORK GREENWAYS

York's Greenways are traffic free paths for cyclists pedestrians and wheelchair users. They form part of the National Cycle Network and the TransPennine Trail and link the city centre with the surrounding countryside. Well surfaced and with gentle gradients, they are suitable for families and residents and visitors of all ages. They are havens for wildlife and biodiversity.

York Greenways works with landowners along the Greenways, to help maintain and improve the paths, creating interesting destinations and encouraging wildflowers and pollinators.

Visit the Maps page for more information on where the greenways are and places to visit along them.
